I'm in the chair, waiting for my turn, scrolling my phone like any normal Tuesday. Phone rings. Doctor. "Your blood glucose came back high. Pre-diabetes."

...Excuse me?

I made him repeat it. Twice. In under two minutes. Me? The nutrition coach who preaches balance and good food? Pre-diabetes? No symptoms. No warning. Just bam— "How did this happen?"

I excused myself from the chair, ugly-cried in the garden for a hot second, then did what I do: made a plan.
